For several years now, I’ve been looking for a game where I can casually hop on for a few hours here and there, and do casual tasks to level up my skills. Things like Fishing, Woodcutting, Fletching, whatever it may be.

I’ve tried googling nonstop for online MMOs, browser games, and trying whatever is hype next, but nothing is that simple life of leveling up skills without constant fighting.

Am I the only one with this itch, and is there a solution besides going back to Runescape again?

Check out The Saga of Ryzom: https://ryzom.com it’s a libre+gratis (with optional subscription) open source MMORPG.

There’s four different races/species of humanoids. You can forage, craft, use magic, and/or melee. Characters are built however you want them to be. It’s heavy into the RP aspect but not required. PVP is optional.

It’s been around since 2004 and runs well on older systems but, I think, looks pretty good on higher end machines too. I’ve been playing on and off for years. The community is great and development and in-game events have been happening more often recently.

Have you looked at Stardew Valley? Another one is Don’t Starve Together. There is some fighting and your character never levels up. You put yourself in a better position by building up your base and supplies.

I thought Stardew Valley was like Mafia or Among Us? I better look into it right away!

I found Guild Wars 2 to be pretty enjoyable playing casually. There is a lot of fighting in the core game as it’s a skill based action RPG, but technically you can easily get to level 80 (max) without lots of fighting and just crafting. The problem is that you need to fight monsters to get materials…

There is no grind to get to max level there though.
