I’ve seen reviews for individual ones, but not something comprehensive that compares two or more of them. Does anyone know of any?

you van find some info on sites, but the projects are of early beta quality at most, so a review is not very useful today. They say UBPorts is the most usabe today, followed by purism.
Interesting since Pine64 chose Manjaro as its official OS over Ubuntu Touch.
Pine64 choose Manjaro for different reasons than whatever UI it might ship with. Also they stopped doing that now with newer devices like the PineTab2, that ships with Danct12’s Arch Linux build instead.
Because they don’t want to enforce a single interface, but have a distribuition where the user can install them all.
