This is an elaboration on my previous question regarding depictions of single party communist political systems but I am particularly interested in China and how things work in their seat of power.

Looking for a show like House of Cards but Chinese with english subtitles and I don’t care if its CCP propoganda stuff or if its filmed in the Koreas depicting a fairly realistic informed u derstanding of party politics, show trials, etc.

Actually they do have it, with the full approval and economic support of the CCP, so they get, let’s day, their point of view.

It’s called In the Name of the People. This article seems to mention they even show (gasp) officials corruption.

Just as mentioned, it’s literally financed by the government, so don’t expect a very realistic show. But they seem willing to admit corruption at the lowest levels.

But is there an English subbed version? I can’t freaking find it anywhere, its always either no subs or chinese character subs

Edit1: that amazing bro. Just need an English subbed version and source to watch it on. You’ve got mybfull attention if you know where

Edit2: Here ya go fam(s), aha

Edit3: it really is incredible, although I’m going to wait till I have my Adderall so I can actually follow along, its incredibly fast-paced and the subtitles (which I’m grateful for) are very small lol

My guess is that if someone would film a show like that he/she would be disappeared within days, so nobody is brave enough.

Guy below found it. In the Name of the People, its really the Chinese approved and likely assisted with financing/resources version of the US’ House of Cards.

Tbh, I feel like it makes a ton of sense for the CCP to dramatize and show how things can play out for potential corrupt players. Im prolly being naïve here but I feel like its the same reason prosecutors have to disclose the evidence they have on you. It literally makes no sense for them to try and ambush you at trial, much better everyone is spared the expense and hardship of trial if you already know you’re cooked and can come out with more by pleading it out or whatever.

TraumaZone isn’t really a show - it’s a collection of news coverage from the fall of the Soviet Union. It’s pretty intense. But it’s not a show like House of Cards

Particularly of interest is the main body surrounding the Chinese president, the ones who are usually immune to prosecution and charges for bribery and other crimes against the state to which everyone else is held in suspicion.
