Modding the bootscreen is pretty cool stuff. Goes very well with “total conversations”, I used to have fun with the Windows 95 boot logo before opening an XFCE desktop with Chicago95 theme.

Doesn’t sym linking the theme works too? I’m using the alternatives way in Ubuntu

That works too, but copying the file is simpler and easier in my opinion.
