Snow is a big reason i haven’t bought one. (Obv reason number one is lack of money)

I’ve heard rumors that they’re not the best in snow, but can’t confirm.

they are less dangerous, in the sense that you have more control over how much risk you want to take.

if you ride safely and learn all the advanced skills you’ll never have a problem. but if you cycle safely and competently you still get into a lot of dangerous situations.

Yes, they go faster so there is more risk of serious injury/death.

Also a benefit of cycling in comparison is that you get excersise

I’d say that’s a wrong comparison. Higher speeds can be more dangerous, and at any given speed, cycling is the more dangerous.

Why do you think cycling is more dangerous at a given speed? Because people wear protective clothing in motorcycles?

Fatter tyres, better acceleration, better brakes, heavier more stable vehicle, indicators lights and a horn. Overall you have better control and maneuverability, and better visibility and communication.

The exception is snow, where narrow tyres are better.

But anyway just try riding each at 30mph and it’ll be obvious.

Isn’t this the same thing as saying running is more dangerous than walking because it’s faster?
