I half fixed this btw. Its confusing because their link is deceptively not actually an image file, its html. I had switched to using <object since it handles missing images better, but I didn’t realize that will load html, so I switched back to <img

Looks like you broke the thumbnail size now, they span the whole page width for me (Firefox mobile).

This is intended. The thumbnails were so small they were basically invisible, so now on mobile it reflows to a whole row. The height thing may be an issue, since I’m limiting the height to a certain px, but I kinda like it because you can see multiple rows on mobile as opposed to the image taking the whole screen.

Uh this is really intended behaviour? It looks extremely messy.

The images just take up way too much space. Maybe this should be like an alternative layout.

I can’t have the images in the same row as the titles and such on mobile, because they’re too small and its not enough space. I’m not sure what else I can do.

It’s always a struggle to find a pastebin service for images. I won’t use imgur because it’s CloudFlare and Tor-hostile. This onion site used to work well, I think, but ATM it gives errors:

        http://matrixtxri745dfw.onion/neo/uploads/200228/MATRIX_230554_OCB_reddit.png

Even if it did work, I don’t suppose lemmy.ml would be able to handle a .onion link.

        https://pix.toile-libre.org is Tor-hostile.

pasteboard.co used to work fairly consistently but lately it’s quite glitchy. I get the impression pasteboard.co accept pics from Tor users but does not let Tor users view them. It’s sad to see that pasteboard.co apparently uses AWS (I don’t like to support Amazon). It’s a sad state of affairs.

Not your fault, but you exposed some bug in Lemmy ;)

FYI you can upload images directly here, no need for anything extra.

ah, I overlooked that. Guess it’s good I did… maybe Lemmy can improve.

I wouldn’t mind self-hosting an onion site (so my posts can remain somewhat anonymous). However, lemmy.ml most likely can’t handle onion URLs.

    It’s like they’re intentionally trying stray away it’s users…
