According to DistroWatch, MX Linux received most of the hits and seems to be the most popular Linux distribution at the moment.

When I saw this, I was pretty surprised. What do you think?

    Isn’t this data solely gathered from the people that visit their website?

    According to the steam hardware survey, the most popular distros are Ubuntu and Arch, which seems a lot more probable…

      Yup this is probably closer to the truth. Distrowatch literally just counts page hits.

        Is MX Linux used for embedded/server applications? If it is, I wonder how many of those recorded instances are VPNs.

      I expected as much, though that only accounts for desktop users. If you factor in server distros, it’ll probably be Ubuntu and CentOS.
