If he had done this exact same thing in Donbas and killed some ethnic Russians he would’ve been hailed as a hero by liberals. Banality of evil is when someone does something evil for a banal reason, like getting a promotion in an army. This is not banality of evil this guy is just evil. It just sounds banal now because racism is so mainstream that this type of overt evil is just an everyday occurrence.
