Isn’t all internet kind of built on the same infrastructure? I’m still rather hazy on the intricacies of its workings, not to mention non-WWW networks.
I use duckduckgo and in the last couple weeks when i search using russian language half of results are somehow in ukrainian. I refuse to think that this is an accident.
It’s not, the head of Duckduckgo openly bragged on Twitter that they’re gonna show less Russian news.

Brave Search might be the best search engine right now, since DuckDuckGo started removing russian “propaganda”. Searx is also good.

Same thing that’s happening with Reddit’s censorship of the far left, and now Discord banning GenZedong as well. We cannot trust these centralized privately owned services, even if they look good at first. We should always rely on decentralized open source alternatives.

well its not really banned yet, they just said it was violating tos, as spreading misinformation, probably because the russia-ukraine war channel, so discord asked to remove the misinformation and moderate the server, but if the misinformation continues it will get banned

almost 0% chance google hard coded these results, just that dipshits who are googling russian flag are commonly doing it recently for defamation reasons and the opposite for Ukrainian flag and so their ML algorithms are suggesting popular results
