    I’m afraid to watch the Princess Bride because everyone I know loves it and begs me to watch it and I’m afraid it will be terrible and when they ask me how it was I’ll have to lie

      Look at it this way, even if you think it’s shit at least there’ll be a lot less references going over your head every day.

      Speaking as someone who also loves the movie: I won’t hate you of it’s not your jam, but give it a try nonetheless! Worst case you just lost some time, but you at least gave it a shot.

      My daughter’s (GenZ) dislike most of the classics. They are my measure of whether a movie still holds up. They quite liked it. They might not watch it every few years like I do, but it’s on their good list. At the very least, they now know why I say, “Have fun storming the castle!” When they are leaving for somewhere.
