I’m just curious for the new or existing people? Lemmy.ml has taken a hard turn to the right since the reddit exodus. There’s been a lot of pro-imperialist propaganda being posted on world news, and a lot less diversity of opinion. It feels more neoliberal and neo-con to me.

Does anyone want to share what their political leanings are?

I’ll start; I’m anti-imperialist pro-state regulated capitalism. I believe we should have usage based taxes (toll roads, carbon tax) and luxury taxes, and I disagree with wealth taxes for people with less than $250 million. The state should spend more money on consumer protection in all industries (environment, health, finance, etc.) I believe in multipolarity vs. US hegemony.

I consider myself to be an Anarcho-syndicalist although I have certain differences from standard AnSyn beliefs

I am incredibly socially progressive (albeit I think traditions and religion given I am a Gnostic christian myself are allowed to stay unless they are directly authoritarian and repressive) and desire a decentralized planned economy where syndicates/guilds/coops decide upon decisions using direct democracy, also anyone past the age of 15 should be free to vote and give out decisions to vote upon, I also want money, wage labor and private property to be abolished, I’m very anti-imperialist as well but I don’t support mixing anti-imperialism with nationalism.

However, where I am kinda unorthodox is that I don’t believe that anyone should be forced to join a union, that for me is statist and I find that for those in rural areas, a more mutualistic system works best such as for farmers as an example and even still I believe each community should be allowed to set up its own system if its committed to fighting exploitation and authoritarianism.
