If you were about to Time Travel and you couldn't stop it. The magic portal has already opened and is sucking you in; But you could choose an era to end up in. Where would you go and why?

I’d aim more for the Empire. Even during the republic, that was only for upper-crust Latin men, which I am not. There was a robust economy with everything from contracts to product endorsments, though, and I can already read the Latin alphabet and understand some of the vocabulary and a rough outline of the grammar.
