I was wondering how many people were just on vacation here and how many committed. I don’t see an option to make a poll so I will make comments and you can vote on them. (Voting doesn’t give karma like on *eddit so it’s not for personal gain, I’m just genuinely curious.)

I didn’t delete anything because history is good to have for others that may want to search something and come across my posts for similar problems and/or answers. Most of my contributions to Reddit aren’t the helpful type, but a small bit are. To take that away from someone looking for help feels wrong to me, no matter how the corporations are leveraging my contributions. I did decide to leave Reddit for good though, so no more content from me.

Same here, I have some stuff saved I haven’t got around to archiving off of reddit and some of my posts are answering questions that didn’t have an answer. I’d hate to contribute to the frustration of someone trying to find a niche answer and seeing the solution deleted

I haven’t deleted my account but I did delete my posts. I have a commitment to host one week on a sub next month and then I’m off for a while. Cat pictures here are just as plentiful as *eddit. :)

I’m working on a full deletion of my 15 yo account. Just waiting on my archive link so I at least have a backup.

I wiped my accounts (12 years of posts/comments) and deleted all alt accounts, but I kept my main alive (but wiped) mostly so I can keep a pulse on the subs I’m following and the state of Reddit. I’ve noticed that some subs needed some encouragement to remain blacked out, so being able to upvote using a (trusted) account is still helpful. I’ve replaced my Reddit usage with Lemmy and I do intend to stay away from reddit.

not the person you replied to, but I had a lot of alts for the sake of privacy. I would delete an alt and generate a new one, but My main account was 10 years old

For me it was mostly being able to discuss things and sub to certain subreddits privately, as my main Reddit account was known by friends and also easily traceable to me as a person. So for example being able to discuss in the LGBT+ subs before being out as aro/ace.

I was mostly a lurker on reddit… I didn’t care about third party apps because I use mainly the website and just a bit the mobile app. I didn’t care about API price. I like the contents and I’m here because I like FOSS (even if I’m not obsessed) and I hope that the mess on reddit will help a lot of people to came here and post their contents here. No reasons to delete my reddit account
