Tesla drivers say they have been locked out of their cars after an outage struck the carmaker’s app.

Dozens of owners posted on social media about seeing an error message on the mobile app that was preventing them from connecting to their vehicles.

This will happen to banks as well as more and more people have their credit cards on their phone.

Thanks I prefer cash it even works if there is no power.

Edit: I changed the title, the BBC implies that all or near all drivers couldn’t start their car but it’s just those who start it with the app.

        Teslas also have an RFID card that functions as a backup key. IMO, just keep that in your wallet next to your driver’s license, even if you use your phone normally.

        I think what he meant was more about letting the user choose instead of imposing arbitrary proprietary standards that don’t have the user benefits in mind but the companies interests.
