What makes you say that, I wonder because Chrome OS normally comes only on preinstalled devices. Because of that I guess… if so, there are unofficial ways to install it…
Not sure that Chrome OS disqualifies as Linux distro, the only thing I maybe can complain about is that it uses a proprietary license, but given the fact that it comes only on preinstalled devices this hardly comes as a surprise. Google is known to have high security standards. Sure, the Linux community dislike Google in general but Google sponsors a lot and helps a lot in the community I think.
For an instant, Google sponsored Firefox to survive. Got millions of dollars, and I am not talking about the deal to put it Google as default search engine back in the day. Without Google Mozilla would be long gone. There are other projects which would be dead without Google.
