Not to be the bearer of bad news, but given the weird tendency of the US left to ally itself with liberals – those of the Democratic Party variety – I’d say the red-brown alliance is already here. (Seriously, this current war in Ukraine has convinced me that there’s no functional difference between libs and outright swastika-waving fascists).
True enough. The social democrats and the Kerensky types - AOC, Ilhan Omar, etc. have already made clear their position on empire.
I dunno. It’s difficult to parse ideology anymore in this shithole. If it’s allowed to exist in the public sphere, it’s capitalist/imperialist/fascist/austere, etc. etc. Just minor differences in policy and preferred enemy.
If they, those who rule us and own us, allow someone to speak on a talk show or large podcast, or consistently publish papers in an academic journal, then whatever that person has to say, no matter radical it sounds on the surface, does not actually threaten the current system. Zizek is one example of this kind of distraction. This is what torpedoed Michael Parenti out of mainstream academia.
Yep, that was gonna happen anyways. Libs have to protect their standing on the global ladder which means anything foreign is bad to them which aligns with fascists so no surprises.

Welp, time to burn it all and walk out.
