FreeCAD is made primarily to design real-life objects of any size. Parametric modeling allows you to easily modify your design by going back into your model

They are different animals, FreeCAD is more like Solidworks AutoCad is more for 2D drafting. FreeCAD is 3D parametric Modeling.
Oh, I got it all wrong! That means that a lot of other people got it wrong too, because a tonne of people try using FreeCAD as a replacement for AutoCAD.
