I’ve almost given up on it completely. I deleted my personal a while back. I made a burner account just to view tweets and even now, it’s still unbearable. It’s almost as bad as Reddit now.
From what I understand nitter uses Twitter’s “Unofficial API”. It’s similar to Invidious where they reverse engineered enough to make an alternate frontend. This means that whenever Twitter makes big changes to their internal protocols and APIs, then nitter will be broken until the devs get to work and fix what’s broken.
Actually, not really. Surprising, I know, but it’s still mostly normies looking to follow celebrities. Besides Instagram, Twitter is one of the only social media platforms that celebrities flock to. Facebook doesn’t have that kind of environment. We’ll see how far he lets things go until advertisers start leaving. They’re not leftist but usually advertisers promoting whatever don’t want to be associated with slurs.
