    why don’t you show or tell what this error is? people cannot telepathically know what is going wrong there.

        this looks like a completely different driver than the one you posted in your top comment. In which folder did you run this?

            Are you sure your adapter does not work out of the box? Ubuntu seems to have the driver for it already at:

            /usr/lib/firmware/mt7601u.bin
            

            Maybe you can try sudo modprobe mt7601u and see if that makes it work.

              That’s the firmware, not the driver.

              The driver seems to be the Ralink rt2870sta.

              Even Debian, which is fairly restrictive, has a way easier process to load the firmware with the Kernel driver: https://wiki.debian.org/rt2870sta

              The only “internet connection” I have rn is USB Tethering from me phone.
