Yeah, they’ve used the EEG tech to do a lot of neat tricks, not the least impressive of which is doing things like scrolling a page by thinking about it. So it can definitely be used for UI interaction, but it’s also in a sort of “Oculus Rift DK2” like beta phase

Hmm…interesting. I guess the takeaway I get is almost “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”. This kind of conflict seems inevitable when you write GPL licensed code, and so you’re pretty much either gonna hurt yourself by blocking off useful software/hardware, or sacrifice your principles for functionality with something like a “GPL condom”.
