i think i’d be fine if lemmy could just load consistently

abolish the stock market
prior to reddit itself collapsing i deleted my account which had iirc over a million karma due to a mental breakdown, so the loss has already been tempered somewhat. my current reddit is at like 300k or so, i’m trying to decide if it’s worth scraping and backing up all my comments - i do like my writing but how much actual use will the backup have
it just feels weird and sad - we always think ‘the internet is forever’ but in a much more real way, the internet is temporary. this ‘community’ which feels very new and cool and vintage is just 1s and 0s that some dipshit could buy as well…
so far at least there are no constant annoying automod filters like ‘this title needs to be 250 characters not including spaces, have a [i’m a dumbass] flair, etc etc’
it does nothing to improve the quality of anything and makes the whole UX more annoying. on r/gonewildaudio there’s like a paragraph of flairs
oh thank god other people think this
the internet clicks hit the same brain buttons as real life interaction does, even though it probably shouldn’t
i love being able to see individual upvote and downvote counts. the nuance is actually very important
sports gamethreads would be very fun on here
dreading the day when i see lemmy billboards
I feel like that’s partially intrinsic to the upvote system. one nice thing is having upvote and downvote count on here - you can see if people are still supporting your point instead of just a negative score
brilliant way to handle it. hopefully everyone shutting down gives out lemmy links
yeah, i don’t understand why it’d be built like that? i guess it prevents overbearing mods, but the only true advantage seems like you can still call the backup “Gaming” instead of “TrueGaming” or whatever
everything does. planet earth itself will. best thing to do is enjoy it while we can and take any preventative measures we can
hopefully 21 miles of cromulent posting
it would be amazing if a site could replicate that early day reddit feeling
glad someone else is feeling this. it’s really strange and depressing seeing so many good things collapse within the year. and we’re getting no wins whatsoever
pretty dogshit attitude from them – easily one of the worst things about reddit is random subs being able to silence people like this. especially at a time like this, we’re really bickering on about rule 8a.(b) when the app and site are facing existential threats?
chopping veggies for dinner

showering
it’s disgusting how no one wants to actually be a company that provides things anymore, but simply a company that does deals with advertisers
i assume/hope this is why .world is down?
