    No no that’s right.

    They assume everyone else is as peaceful as themselves.

    Europe is extremely violent and bestial.

    They are often incorrect about this assumption because most other countries are not violent and bestial.

    You mean the continent that said they need to tame the jungle that is the global south? The continent that mutilated colonized people and committed the worst genocides in history? The continent that fucks over it’s own people? There must be some sort of rift in spacetime because this person cannot be from around here.

    But this is Reddit so why am I even surprised?

    Aime Cesaire’s discourse of colonialism captures this lib mindset so well. Nazism, which Europe considers the greatest evil ever, while even ignoring or celebrating the Russian casualties, was just Europe’s barbarity coming home and infecting them. Germany, England, France, and Belgium’s methods of genocide were literally perfected in its Asian and African colonies.
