At least use Breaking Bad for comparison for once rather than fantasy

As someone who loves fantasy world building, I hate that the fascists seem to have claimed that genre.
Atleast for now we still have luxury gay space communism though.

Ah, but there’s a reason they’re using fantasy. Doesn’t matter if it’s HP, GoT or Marvel. The point is the same: as it is fiction, the narrative can be whatever it needs to be with no regards to material conditions and forces.
Case in point: there’s this comic book (graphic novel if you want to sound fancy) called “Superman: Red Son”. It’s anti-communist as fuck, but it hits all the right notes as far as the liberal narrative goes. Stalin being some kinda bloodthirsty monster with an illegitimate son, who goes around secretly executing people for wrongthink. USSR being absurdly oppressive despite having literal alien technology, including weather manipulation. Meanwhile, USA magically goes from great depression 2.0 to Reagan’s wet dream superpower with flying cars or something, solely because Luthor is elected president. And after Superman is defeated, USA basically takes over the Earth and it all just somehow goes well and cool and shiny spacefuture with flying people in a montage.
That’s why they are always using fantasy. There are none of those pesky limitations like laws of historical development.
I read Red Son relatively recently and was more disappointed in a piece of fiction than I might have ever been. I could almost have forgiven some silly liberalism regarding Stalin as stemming from an uneducated artist, but the portrayal of him as some family-hating pervert violence fetishist passes the horizon that turns Red Son itself into a piece of capitalist propaganda.
Not to mention Superman resorting to literally infecting peoples’ brains with a parasite that makes them support communism, then “Lutherism” (basically techno-ancapism) saving the fucking world. Just disgustingly opaque.
Exactly. But I’ve seen people praise it as some of the best comics evaaar.
The worst part is when people praise it while refusing to do 0 critical thinking about the message its cramming down there throat.
Well they do tried to avoid reminiscence of the last time when nazis roamed Ukraine because it is too much like the current events.
