I love me some The Deprogram, Chapo Traphouse, Blowback, RevLeft, Multipolarista. But every once in a while, I need a break and I need some dumb stuff to listen to or laugh at. I really like the Lets Read podcast which is just (mostly true) horror stories that people submit to the show. I couldn’t watch JRE if u paid me to, not that I think anyone would suggest it in the first place. Other than that, Cumtown, Bein Ian, dumb stuff like that.

Face Jam and F**kface are quite good. First one, they try limited fast food items and kinda of talk about them in episodes, mostly just chat shit about random stuff or weird things of the restaurant. The second one has three hosts, one of them is a weirdo and it kinda of just goes from there. Would probably recommend starting from the beginning since there are a lot running jokes in both.

I listen to Dutch podcasts mostly. I have one that I like in which judges and lawyers come to talk about their most difficult or bizarre case. Really interesting to hear what steps are taken before a verdict is reached.

I also follow one called ‘Man Man Man’ which is about men. It’s not what it sounds like, its a pretty open minded one.

And I follow one that’s supposed to have leftist women as a target audience lol. It discussed all kinds of stuff, from daily live to sometimes politics to cooking etc.

Mostly listen when I’m driving back to family in my home country.

That law podcast sounds kinda cool, I love hearing odd stories and bizarre happenings no matter what topic it relates to, hence my love of horror podcasts

I don’t really listen to many non-political podcasts currently, I guess my main thing is Climate Water Project, about how our water use is messed up, and the other closest I’ve got that I currently listen to are maybe Programmed to chill, which is mostly about history (mostly about fascists), and weird esoteric stuff like the hermetic order of the golden dawn or XXXTENTACION, which is always fun; the probably cancelled podcast, which is a great ml podcast, but also has episodes about women’s health and culture (and how it’s ruined by capitalism); and Knowledge Fight, which, though it’s explicitly political and liberal, I mostly listen to to laugh at Alex Jones. In the past I have listened to liberal feminist podcasts, TED podcasts, The Liturgists (which actually moved me towards non-antitheistic agnosticism, and was ok, too Christian for me now), a few science podcasts like Science Vs, Climate podcasts that weren’t anti capitalist like How to Save a Planet, random stuff like Stuff You Should Know, and a lot of story podcasts which I kinda want to listen to again like Spooked, Cautionary tales, etc. TLDR: I have listened too a lot of podcasts since I got into them in the summer of 2020.

Speaking of XXXTentacion, there are actually quite a few good videos (albeit by like the oldest whitest dudes you’ll ever see of hear)by psychologists and psychiatrists that analyze X’s lyrics and stuff. I remember finding it really interesting especially the ‘?’ Album

If you’re interested in that kind of thing, I highly suggest Unlocked: Bonus episode 4 from Programmed to chill. It was the first one I listened to, and probably the best available to non-patreon people.

Darknet Diaries, though its sometimes politics adjacent, depending on the subject matter of the episode. For example, they interview hacktivists that got involved with the Occupy movement in 2011 and doxed entire police departments after they started covering up badge numbers and abusing protesters.

Most of the time it’s like a true crime podcast with a cybercrime focus. One of the episodes talks about this incredible international bank heist that occurs in Bangladesh, how the thieves took advantage of the differences in 4 different time zones and the business schedules of the banks involved to cover their tracks after they hack the SWIFT terminal and start putting in orders to withdraw millions of dollars. In another episode the presenter gets to have a long interview with a Canadian man that very, very nearly got away with producing hundreds of millions of counterfeit $20 bills that were reportedly “undetectable to the naked eye”. He runs the audience through the fine details of his journey towards producing the bills, and regales us with the story of how despite getting caught he still managed to basically get away scot free!

If you’re interested, check em out on their site here: https://darknetdiaries.com/episode/

I love Boston’s Favorite Son, it’s about a former MTV star given terrible ideas to try and get him famous again. And if you’ve ever seen the YouTube videos “Half Life but the AI is Self Aware” the people that made that have Where Do We Begin which is just them hanging out.
