Oh, hey, I use some of those! Simple Calendar Pro was at some point the only calendar app that displayed notifications for upcoming events properly. Etar and whatever the default calendar app was just displayed them silently, causing me to miss them completely.

Another shout out to the Simple File Manager. The default file manager in Android 10… I think it’s a visual mess. SFM, on the other hand is clean and intuitive. Tibor Kabuta is doing some damn fine work.

This is probably a testament to how petty I am with my tech, but I installed /e/ OS on my phone, and immediately installed all the Simple apps because the default /e/ OS apps have square icons a la iOS, and the Simple apps have typical Android circle icons, which better matches the other apps I have.

Wait, so their stock apps have square icons and every other app is a circle? Why would they make that design choice? It’s just inconsistent.

Their default launcher looks like the iOS one (personally really hate this tendency by Android ROM developers), and automatically converts other apps to the square design. However, other launchers can’t convert the square design to circles, and apparently even icon packs can’t, so I basically said “f*ck this, I’m fine using the Simple apps anyway!”

I mean, both sets of apps are open source, so… eh, whatever man.

Wow. Honestly, I would probably do the same if that was the case.

Can confirm they’re free on F-droid. Though if you really like the pro features and you’re installing them for free, I would recommend giving them a donation.

I use most of these, really great apps! Wasn’t a fan of the look but you can change the colors to whatever you want, all black everything lol
