They were on Guerilla History (kinda) together recently to talk about the book. Genuinely interesting stuff. Just makes it all the more frustrating that he refuses to use his analysis to form a coherent, anti-imperialist, based world view.
Since you already know what to critique Chomsky on, it’s all the more reason to read him. Manufacturing Consent (moreso by Edward Herman than him, but still) is a great text. They both ended up later saying Parenti-lite shit regarding Yugoslavia that got them into trouble for all the rights reasons, but a rare time they were in alignment with him.
I was just thinking about him. He and Vijay Prashad wrote a book recently. I’m sure I’ll read a couple of Noam’s books at some point, but dude is 🫤

makc just did two great interviews with them
“The Hollow Crown” - Noam Chomsky & Vijay Prashad on The Withdrawal: Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and the Fragility of U.S. Power
Imperialism and the Responsibility of Intellectuals with Noam Chomsky and Vijay Prashad
brian becker’s socialist program on break through news also did an interview with vj
The Weakness of US Empire & Defeat in Afghanistan: New Book by Vijay Prashad and Noam Chomsky
Listening to that Becker interview as we speak.
Brian Becker is fucking sick for an old white American
He’s still worth reading.

I’ve heard Manufacturing Consent is good. I’ll see how I like that one and look into more after that.
