I remember when an American celebrity got caught paying for her daughter to cheat her way into a prestigious university and it was discovered 1000s of middle class and up amerikkkan parents were engaged in the same or similar cheating schemes.
I also know of the systemic problem with western unis where rich kids can get in purely on their parents connections and a monetary donation vs academic ability.

They haven’t been to the US, obviously. We made bribing public officials in unlimited amounts legal. Our politicians are doing insider trading all the time. We make jokes about our politicians wearing the logos of the companies that have bought their votes. We know and accept all these things as a normal part of our country’s politics.
