There are 14 remarkable findings about China, Hong Kong, the US, free speech and elections, in the latest edition of the world's largest survey of democratic attitudes, which has just been released
CHINESE PEOPLE FEEL better democratically represented by their system of governance than citizens of any other nation feel about their own, a major
no, when there are protests in china they roll out the tanks and kill people until the protests stop. deliberation in the democratic sense doesnt involve people dying.
Wait till you find out what western governments do to people when they protest. Being ignorant about a subject is not a flaw, nobody can know everything. However, holding strong opinions on a subject you’re utterly ignorant on makes one a fool.
Just because western governments mistreat protesters doesn’t mean executing dissenters is part of democracy.
Today the people of Taiwan are meeting with representatives from the US government. Chinas response is threatening nuclear war. Perhaps you can explain how deliberation is a part of this process?
Every government puts limits on dissent. Today, US is violating China’s territorial integrity by sending a top official to Taiwan. US has also spent billions on nurturing a separatist movement in Taiwan. If you think that Taiwan being dominated by US is what democracy looks like what else is there to tell you.
And China sets that bar at winnie the pooh lol
China is saying the people of taiwan are not allowed to deliberate foreign policy at all…
The most frustrating part of talking to imbeciles such as yourself is that you simply regurgitate nonsense. China has given Taiwan autonomy, and allowed it to have its own government and military. In 2014, China offered Taiwan to have representatives in the mainland government without China having representatives in Taiwanese government.
At that point US ran a color revolution in Taiwan. Weird that US didn’t want people of Taiwan to deliberate their foreign policy.
If they’re givin autonomy, why does china insist on controlling who they talk to? That doesn’t sound like autonomy to me!
Because China cares about its sovereignty. A better question is why US is spending billions of dollars to meddle in politics half way across the world?
Yup, so much so that it doesn’t allow deliberation, which makes it a fascist dictatorship and not a democracy. The US’s undeniable love for wasting money is sort of irrelevant to the question of democracy in china. Perhaps you can provide an example of deliberation in china?
