Garrison has terminal lolbertarian brain, so I actually wasn’t sure if he was suggesting gubberment bitcoin is based because it’s bitcoin or cringe because it’s gubberment. He gave the government bitcoin fangs and a crown and pretensions of taking the throne after dollar is dead.

Michael Parenti quote about how fascism is irrational but nonetheless always supports capital. American fascists have an odd relationship with China. On the one hand, they want to exterminate every Chinese person. On the other, they’re having trouble ignoring China’s success, and admiringly think that it derives from “authoritarianism” or fascism when it in fact derives from worker democracy.

Conservatives who cheer on de-dollarization are so absolutely clueless about the implications what that means. No more cheap treats, among other things.

It’s going to be replaced with a BRICS currency backed with gold, oil, and other natural resources, as opposed to the dollar, which is backed by American imperialism. Once the USA is forced to actually pay for itself without enslaving the rest of the planet, civil war will probably result.

It would be nice if we could have a stable currency again that doesn’t constantly inflate away the wealth and the income of the working class to funnel it all into wars, megacorps or environmentally destructive subsidies(corn, oil etc).

Cum coins. Shells. Screams of despair.

And the exchange rate between them will be convoluted and insane.

You gotta be more specific. Fresh cum? dried cum? cum powder? cum in a pony jar? frozen cum? cum backed currency? cum promisary notes? cum derivatives like cum futures? cum pegged stable coins? also how do you address the inherent inquality of men getting a self-made universial basic incum? Also is it measured by volume? taste? sperm count? if so the currency is inherently deflationary because of dropping sperm count

Cum coins, cummie shillings, jizz bucks… how much clearer can a person be?

I specifically said it would be convoluted and insane. And yes, there will be menfarms in the central banks.

Similar to what duderium posted, check out the idea of bancor that Keynes proposed. That could have easily become the world’s reserve currency instead of the dollar, but the US actively took steps to make sure that didn’t happen.

You don’t need a single currency to replace dollar supremacy.

Gotta be honest I don’t really understand it, but it sounds like Special drawing rights (SDRs/XDR).

Personally I wouldn’t be opposed to some sort of decentralized stable currency (meaning no single state holds power over it) that has checks and balances between the different issuers of it, to disincentivize abuse of the currency, like the US loves to do. I don’t think having a single issuer like the IMF or UN or something is a good idea, because it could just be captured. It would be nice if it was a sort of self regulating system.

Side note: Got a little confused when this showed up when I clicked through the pictures on the Bancor wiki page lol

        Apparently it’s the Wikinews logo.

why the hell would Wikinews pick (((🌐))) as their logo 😭

I like that idea. if you buy an average US car then you would then take two to three full pieces of silver chain mail armor. or perhaps you could arrange it into a nice horse sculpture, perhaps you would get a discount then

The only way BRICS could kill the dollar, IMHO, is if they would create a currency to negociate oil but that currency could not have it’s supply growth rate higher than USD or pegged in gold …can’t see USD losing it’s power any time soon in the current scenario

As cringe and reactionary as Saudi Arabia is, they’re the ones who have held up the whole petrodollar scheme on America’s behalf, and they just joined BRICS. Which means they might be pivoting away from America, and weakening American dollar hegemony as a result.
