China is also using more coal than anyone else currently, so I really hope they’re phasing that out soon. What people seem to forget is that China is a massive country and it takes a long time even if you built a high absolute number of energy production facilities with less greenhouse gas emissions.
I’m very happy that China doesn’t safeguard the coal industry just because it has people working there, like it is done in the US and Germany. On the other hand, nuclear power can also be dangerous for energy stability if you look in the direction of France.
