It’s impossible to see CNN the way that I did a few years ago. Back then it was “deny American collapse bc ratings, the people don’t wanna hear it” now it’s “lets talk about shitty prices of everything, low wages and a gov that does nothing, for the ratings, people wanna hear about this what can I say” and NO, they aren’t working class all of a sudden, it’s just that the news they report on now is easy to put a Marxist twist on. I actually enjoy watching lib media with family bc I can point out things MSM won’t mention. My mom can be upset that we’re dealing with Saudi Arabia despite the Reporter Murder, so I can quickly add that it will always happen that way and that the rising medicine and retirement costs come at the expense of the working class bc owners will make more.

The Ws in other parts of the world are our Ws as well, and there are many. Things may get ugly here but some things will get much easier as the rest of the world slowly turns red. It will be easier to radicalize as the international success of socialism becomes harder and harder to ignore, just as the abyssal cesspit of capitalism’s failures start stinging people harder and harder in the imperial core; for us, things will have to continue to get worse for them to get better.

In the meantime, maybe I’m pulling this out of my ass, maybe this is just my own bias as I myself only recently became an ML (about 9-10 months ago) but it certainly feels like MLism is starting to take root thanks to the efforts of socialists over the past decades, socialists in recent times and lots of external variables. It seems much more visible now than ever before in modern American history, I can say that for sure. Hence a very strong “anti tankie” backlash, and all the libs bemoaning that “everyone is a tankie now” and “taking over everything.” This is a whiny exaggeration but the fact of the matter is is that MLism is growing in the Anglosphere and it’s only going to continue growing as the conditions that birthed it continue to sharpen.

Things like climate change, intelligence services, the war machine, fascism, corporate power etc. may seem omnipotent but it is smoke and mirrors. These entities are paper tigers and they will crumple one by one in the next half century. Don’t get me wrong, it won’t all be sunshine and butterflies, there will be massive challenges and setbacks and individuals such as you or me or XYZ may end up unlucky and suffer a horrible fate in the last act of the global class war. But things are not so surely grim as we are made to believe.

A thing to always keep in mind is that algorithms are going to direct you towards negativity, whether it’s a conspiracy and the CIA is trying to get would-be revolutionaries to be anti-AES or to kill themselves or otherwise be made inert by depression/vices/etc., or whether it’s just the good ol’ algorithms chasing what gets clicks and ad revenue, and negativity in the Western Left is simply a temporarily profitable market, either way, it is being shoved onto us and is in no way as rational as such terminal cynicism likes posture.

Lastly, also keep in mind to take care of yourself in all the usual ways. You won’t believe how different my outlook on life is on a day when I slept poorly, wasted productivity hours, couldn’t relax for leisure hours, ate poor quality food, was sedentary and didn’t socialize versus a day where I slept great, was productive and thus enjoyed relax mode, ate healthy, was active and was social (and of course all these things go hand in hand in many ways).

Have hope comrade! The future is brighter than we have been conditioned to believe!

The fact that they can play as dirty as possible with far less restrictions, such an enormous headstart regarding resources and world power, and STILL lose? It’s embarrassing. And their desperation is delicious 😋

Just like a US and China thing. As of 1960s, US was more developed than China and it wasn’t really a reasonable comparison, now after decades of Chinese innovations and American Decline, they are now comparable and China is passing the US in many metrics of success now or are on track to do so soon.

All the while America had access to a WORLDWIDE empire, 30 years of which with NO rival to impede them. It’s like starting the race next to the finish line and somehow getting beat by the other player with an iron ball chained to their ankle. I’m really interested to see the new narratives they come up with the explain China’s superiority and America’s inferiority in this coming decade, although probably it will be the tired old “China slave labor 1984 robot state” and “America sucks NOW because insert scapegoat

Oh I already know one of the narratives that I expect to really blow up. At the gun range in my area it’s only rightoid morons. I heard someone say that (brace yourself, this is beyond stupid) China has learned from their own Opium Wars and now they are the perpetrators of an “international Vape War” with contaminated vapes in order to fuck up other peoples lungs or make them addicted to low quality products or something. I don’t get it, the analysis makes no sense

I definitely agree with the majority of this comment - but IS climate change a paper tiger?

I mean there is so much evidence that shit is getting worse and worse and economics are becoming infinitely more difficult. I still feel like the US will collapse and things will be awful here for a good while before things get better.

The future is bright, but I feel like that is a distant future :(

I don’t think it’s a paper tiger. It’s something that will cause more and more irrevocable damage the longer it goes unchecked, but it’s also not something that’s impossible to recover from.
Looking at what China is doing to mitigate climate change gives me hope. I think we grossly underestimate what a world lead by governments that have their shit together (or that can accept help from ones that do without worrying about being couped by the US for doing so) is capable of.

That does make me happy too, hearing libs say that things are going too far with strategy, it gives a lil hope

Is the CP illegal where you live? It is illegal where I reside and the military runs things, sometimes openly, sometimes behind the scenes, so I don’t think things will change any time soon.

          • Nope, he said hes italian. Maybe hes talking about Giorgio Napolitano, a piece of shit traitor who was a top member of the Communist Party of Italy in the 1970s and 1980s. After 1989 he became a socdem (he already was previously tbh) and became President of Italy. He did such wholesom communist things as authorizing the imperialist intervention in Libya, supplying weapons to the syrian terrorists (“moderate rebels” in the west) and presiding over the criminal austerity and privatizations that followed the 2008 economic crisis, including collaborating with the EU to force Greece into poverty and austerity. Great communist i know.
