This is how I feel playing the more recent Oregon Trail on my similar setup, but that game is zen as FUCK. Man cannot live on Cyberpunk alone.

I’ve been curious about the hype for this game. From what I know it seems like a card game like poker. The popularity of it must mean it’s quite engaging though.

I got it on my phone, and it has taken up more of my life than I care to admit. It’s similar to slay the spire. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys strategy games.

Yeah, it’s a lot of fun. It’s like poker, but you get to modify your deck and how many chips you earn by drawing special cards between rounds.

The goal is trying to break the game to pass an ever-increasing chips/points threshold. If you fail, your run is over.

Ok but Tetris Effect, fully cranked, 4K, 120.
Now that has got to be an experience.

I got a new 3070 ti GPU back in like 2022 but my CPU is from 2009 so a lot of stuff has been bottle necked. I got everything but the case for my new computer. It will be here Saturday. I’m so excited!

I’m looking forward to Death Stranding and Helldivers 2 which both physically couldn’t run on my CPU because they used instructions made after 2011 or something. Elden Ring wouldn’t get more than like 20 to 25 FPS for me. So many little things I’m looking forward to.

I’m hoping they work with Linux, though.

The new Indiana Jones looks fantastic.

Cyberpunk, Witcher 3 got an update to graphics like 2 years ago, Returnal (3rd person shooter rogue lite scifi bullet hell that is fucking beautiful, was a PS5 exclusive but is now available on PC), the Spiderman games, god of war (2018, and the new one), Baulder’s Gate 3.

Or uh… Just install Path of Exile and play that for 3000 hours. I don’t know man. You do you.

I may play it when the story is finished - if the reviews for the full thing are positive. Right now I’m too worried they’re making a decade of buildup for a dissatisfying and confusing ending, just like Kingdom Hearts.

I’ve played a demo of Remake on my PlayStation and while I could project whatever conversational voices I wanted from text dialog back with the original, I just can’t mesh with the half-hearted anime dub voices (in either language). And I ultimately play JRPGs for their story. Thanks for the recommendation though.

This game feels like the perfect game to be cross platform (save game) and I definitely can play it in almost, if not all my devices but I haven’t started because I am suffering of choice paralysis lol.

I have a medium end gaming PC with 64gb of ram and a decent (aging) 5700xt. My favorite PC game right now is Hades 😎

I like the graphics of new games, but every time I try to play one I have to agree to a 50 page privacy policy and/or create a new account. I usually just cancel that and go back to my classic games that you just open and start playing.

You’re just ahead of the curve cause my DDR3 system originally had 8GB of DDR3, later upgraded to 16GB. Skipped DDR4 entirely and went straight to 32GB of DDR5 6000 in my current system.

Mine originally had 16GB, but with DDR4’s replacement of it, prices eventually dropped quite a bit. And I was playing a game with a really bad memory leak issue and poor optimization, so it the 32gb was actually useful.

I use docker to run a number of containers and sometimes play around with ollama.

I certainly don’t see much activity in my swap.

Can’t speak for them but did a lot of VM and container work for a Master’s, and the RAM was useful for that.

And if you think that is going to stop me from nitpicking, you’re sorely mistaken! 😤

It stood out to me because the rest of the specs are realistic-ish (if we consider that to be 32GB of RAM).

8TB M.2 SSDs are a thing and you can fit 4 into many high-end motherboards. You can even put them into RAID 0 if you want them to look as a single drive in the OS. Comic does not claim it is a single module.

Ok, so you confirm that I’m not mistaken and you can’t currently have a single module 16TB SSD? AFAIK, even 8TB is pushing it.

And I treat it as a single module in the comic because it says “16TB SSD” singular, as opposed to something like “16TB worth of SSDs”.

You can get 16TB, or even more, but not consumer grade, I can confirm that. But I have seen MSI laptops with 2 SSDs in RAID 0 advertised as one number singular in summary, just like in the comic, since it makes no difference to the user.

Funnily enough, the weirder part is actually 25TB HDD. There are 24TB HDDs and even 26TB HDDs but to my knowledge, there is no single module 25TB HDD. And with that capacity, it can’t even be any reasonable RAID setup. The only factorization is 5x5 and 5TB HDD are also not really a thing. That number is the nonsensical one.
