Apparently this was 1992 in San Diego. According to the AI summary (I did navigate into each linked source, and they seem legit), this is the info:

It also mentioned two people out of frame on the right, so I figured out it was cropped. Here’s the full original photo:

Ok, I really should. It was a major disappointment when I played at launch and looked everywhere for how to board the train and couldn’t find it.

I think it’s the harsh consonant sounds. I’m not a linguist and am sure there’s some term for it, but it seems like we identify words in English more from the distinct “framing” of the consonants and are more flexible about hearing variations in how the vowel sounds in between are pronounced.
For example, it’s the same reason that whispering (which largely takes out tone/pitch of vowel sounds) is super easy in English, but more difficult in some other languages.

Wait, does this mean they got the train working?! I haven’t played since early on.

GROND!

I think it does a good job of showing the reality of how clunky integration of different groups can be, and how even in a future where humans have “solved” racism amongst themselves, it’s not a lesson that can be buried with the past yet.
The frustrations that the crew has with Spock’s behaviors that are baffling to them, and vis versa, how Spock feels (and frequently verbalizes) about what he thinks are human failings, are very real reflections of how different groups learn to understand each other better. The friction of their interactions is the point, as well as showing that they are incredibly loyal to each other and care about each other’s wellbeing at the end of the day.
This is the heart of Star Trek, in my opinion - seeing them actively grow together despite their occasional rude outbursts and misunderstandings.

I had to look up the exact exchange, because this line always makes me laugh too. Her tone, lol
KORBY: You think I could love a machine?
CHAPEL: Did you?

Start where it all began! The original is a fun watch.

If it elicits a groan, it’s peak dad humor.

Brutal… Omg, and it’s discover-mate when they capture.

I figure there was a pawn on g7 that the queen captured. No explanation for the magic horsey though.
Piefed has been going slow for me for the past week. Not sure why, so I just swapped back here for a few days and will try again soon.

I think that’s just the proper emotion after ingesting content on twitter.

This is probably one of the most loosely moderated communities on Lemmy, intentionally. I have no desire to be the morality or thought police, I just know that a lot of people don’t want to be surprised with porn or gore that they weren’t intending to see, so sometimes I ask people to use the NSFW tag.

Getting reports on this. Could you add a NSFW tag?
As a general rule of thumb, it would be best to tag anything that is (or appears to be) from porn, even if censored or off screen.

It was just so much simpler then. Aside from the viruses.

It has to be some sort of tradition that any boss, no matter how difficult they make it, will have people saying “Oh him? He was easy!”
Radahn was hard, even punishing, but I really enjoyed learning the fight.
Isn’t this P3?
