He was supposed to divest interest in any business that would present even the appearance of a conflict of interest, as has been done for almost 250 years. Jimmy Carter sold his peanut farm to prevent any possible appearance of corruption. Trump on the other hand put his whole staff up in his hotel, charging the American taxpayers millions of dollars per day, and sold Goyo bean commercials directly from the oval office. In typical modern fashion, the judicial and legislative branches of the government shrugged their shoulders and said “I guess there’s nothing we can do”. People talk about the damage trump may cause during his second term. Like WTF? He already outright destroyed any government credibility during his first term, dismantled trust in the free press, killed a bunch of funding, made enemies of our allies, and allies of our enemies, and cut corporate taxes even further. He has already destroyed what America was in the minds of its citizens. What more can he do, except remove the veil, and any pretense that we’re a nation of the people, by the people, for the people? At least then there would be honesty, and perhaps the blind could see.

Just to clarify, the Maga chuds dying from drinking bleach, od’ing on ivermectin and getting sunburns in their colon would have been a net gain for humanity. Which is why it’s taking all my restraint not to say anything about birdflu and raw milk.

I volunteer at a food bank, and the number of people with maga hats and bumper stickers getting free food is astounding. They also are far more rude when they do not like what free food they are given, or when we do not have a lot of food for them.

Plus, each of these children is going to get their own vote if when they grow up.

Both parties rule as conservatives, so there really is no choice unless you’re pulling the lever for the Green Party, and we can look at our history and see that they have no real shot either outside of local elections. Look at how Biden’s presidency went, for example: Abortion became criminalized, massive inflation (and record corporate profits), record numbers of new homeless every year… and his major focuses seem to have been keeping his scumbag son out of prison and funneling as much money as possible to war.

My advice to people is this: Don’t donate your money to political parties. Put it in stocks instead, and at least your investments will have some measure of representation.
