Emulation and piracy are some of the best things the internet gave us. I salute you, internet pirates!

They are infamous for hunting down anything that smells of copyright violations to them. Even let’s plays and reviews that show in-game footage.

The price for old gameboy and DS games is a crime if you want to buy it in the way Nintendo wants. And Nintendo is veeery petty about people not wanting to pay overpriced games from 20 years ago and wants to play for free, a lot of sites made just for downloading of GBA and DS games have been downed by nintendo for copyright reasons, multiple times… and nintendo is one of the top 3 richest midia companys in the world, and they are still obscessed with protecting their intelectual property in petty ways like this…

  • Arr! After the revolution I want to abolish copyright and organize state-sponsored piracy and distribution of all foreign media, software and videogames. I’d love to see all the companies cope ahahaha (also spam them on trackers and on the web to make them go bankrupt)

Also, use Deluge, QBittorrent or FreeDownloadManager, Utorrent has a crypto miner and is basically malware at this point

  • I’ve been emulating since my lib times because that was the only way to get any good games on the phone lol. Too much games today are a grindy extortion that shouldn’t even count as games.

Many games people make emulators for, the console and game are usually discontinued anyway. And any person who ever worked on the game was paid a long time ago.

And even for new games the developers are paid a fixed payment, not based on sellings.

Based. As a third world person, my whole childhood was emulated retro games on my parents’ PC. Consoles were too expensive for my family to afford, and the computer was too basic to run anything post-N64. I’m Gen Z but my childhood was all 80s and 90s games because of that.

As a fellow third worldist, same comrade. Emulating Sega Genesis and N64 games was the only way I could enjoy the family Pentium 4 in the mid 2000s.

I don’t see why some people go against piracy and emulation. Like it doesn’t hurt you, it hurts the corporate plus most of their triple A titles are shit nowadays…
