Good shit
Also, about 42 percent of white-collar workers said that they voluntarily work overtime even though their companies claim not to implement a 996 work schedule anymore, according to the report.
Does China have the same hustle culture as the US? Because this is ridiculous
In China, you don’t leave until your boss leaves. It’s kind of an unspoken rule. Bosses typically work very hard and stay late so therefore everyone else does. I knew someone who used to leave before her boss, at the official finishing time of 6pm every day, and she was told that by doing this she will never be promoted, but she hated the job and planned to quit anyway.

Im glad they are taking action, it is no longer a fantasy to have such competent governments.
I won’t answer, I’m not Chinese. My understanding is that there is an issue broadly and the government recognizes it and is doing something about it.
Was about time.
These efforts have been underway for several years, especially in tech fields. From what I’ve read, burnout isn’t anywhere near US levels tho, where people usually don’t work in the same field for more than 4 years. Its definitely great to see an effort to not emulate how the west does this.
Based, long live the CPC!
Based CPC and sigma Xi.
I’ve read a piece on Sixth Tone recently that detailed how doctors are often overworked and underpaid, leading to a drop in young doctors in formation. The youth is losing interest and China already has a low medics to population ratio. I don’t know if the issue extends to other professions in the healthcare sector, but I wonder why there isn’t a major effort towards that in particular, and if there is, when it will yield results. I’d like to know more about how healthcare in China works, does anyone know where I can learn more?
Edit: typos
