A China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 with 132 people on board crashed in mountains in southern China on a domestic flight on Monday after a sudden descent from cruising altitude. Media said there were no signs of survivors.
I get the sentiment, but apparently this particular model is absurdly popular. Of all passenger planes in the world, 17% are Boeing 737-800’s. Crash a random plane and it has a good chance of being a Boeing 737-800.
The sentiment comes from reading about how Boeing managers made a callous decision to push out 737 max despite the protests of engineers who knew these things were flying coffins. It’s a window into how decisions are made in these companies.
Yeah seriously. People are screeching about REEE CHINESE CORRUPTION AND POOR MANAGEMENT CAUSED THIS, but without knowing anything about this including which plane was involved, my first thought was “I wonder if it was a Boeing plane.”
It’s important to consider that all the commercial aircraft accidents with fatalities in the last few years involved Boeing planes caused by their negligence in safety.

Is anyone trying to place blame on the Chinese government? I haven’t seen any so far.

I call BS on this. The Max crashes had nothing to do with negligence, and Airbus planes seems to be doing fine with the same “negligent” people.
Negligence on the part of Boeing when designing and safety testing the plane. Not negligence on the part of the airline staff this time
