Ukranian fascism is revealing its ugly face. Hopefully this will start to pierce the western propaganda about “innocent Ukraine”. Would be nice if we could see additional videos and info about this.

You may or may not be surprised to learn that french authorities behave exactly in the same way at the France/Italy or France/UK border. And such situations also happen in Russia (although from what i heard not at the border). Still upvoted because it’s important to point out, even if i don’t agree with the “ukrainians are all nazis and Putin is a hero” narrative you’re trying to paint.

If Ukraine wins and things return to normal will people be better off than before? What if Ukraine is subsumed by Russia?

I’m not sure those people will be any better off in Russia. Or in France or Poland for that matter. We can’t all just move to Berlin. Not being in a war-zone is obviously a good thing.

What we need is a way to fix all these abusive regimes. Or to make people realise that just going back to the way things were two months ago isn’t good enough. The name on the map is not important. It’s creating a regime that really serves it’s people.

But Lemmy is like an island of ideology nerds. Lots of talk but no real initiatives to fix anything. I don’t know how to turn all this rhetoric and cleverness into real practical deeds and progress.

Exactly. Everybody agrees about that, yet it’s only the black and brown faces (or muslim faith) who get denied border crossing. That’s the hypocrisy worth pointing out!

It’s creating a regime that really serves it’s people.

Build a regime without incentives to dominate/exploit people, a regime in which nobody holds power over somebody else, but everyone is empowered to take part as an individual or as a community. Injustices and domination won’t disappear overnight, but that’s a much better start already.

Lots of talk but no real initiatives to fix anything. I don’t know how to turn all this rhetoric and cleverness into real practical deeds and progress.

That’s the problem with all internet forums. Get involved. For real. On your streets. With other radical anti-colonial, anarchist, and/or queer activists from your local neighborhood. Get involved in a zine/patch distro to spread ideas and information. In a cantine providing food for bellies & for thoughts on a regular basis. In a local self-organized social center serving as a space for other collectives to do stuff. In demonstrations against local injustice/suffering or for international solidarity. Organize solidarity parties with comrades about issues that matter to you and to your loved ones, where you can both share information and raise funds in a DIY manner (fuck those feel-good self-righteous NGO donation galas).

There’s so many ways to get active. Together we are powerful. People who have real connections to social struggles on the ground are no fools of the Russian/NATO propaganda and don’t need Internet forums to feel alive and useful in this world. Two related quotes on the topic on getting into struggles:

The struggle is like a circle ; it may start in any point but never ends (Sub-commandant Marcos)

To change everything, start anywhere! (Crimethinc)

The students alleged that Indians specifically were not allowed to cross the border, while others said they were beaten up by the authorities at the Shehyni-Medyka border point connecting Ukraine with Poland.

I have heard that the same was happening with Black people trying to cross. Just a reminder that Poland has its own problems that need to be faced down.

Will Russia liberate Poland next? Will they liberate Finland? Will they use their liberation nukes against the banks in Switzerland that sinisterly refuse to do business with them?
