Because I really like GNU/Linux, and I have a lot of experience with Ubuntu because I am a self hosting fiend with 3 servers running Ubuntu LTS.

Did you read some reviews of Ubuntu touch? I really liked the idea and was going to try it while I wait for Librem 5 but I decided against it.

Its pretty great. I read some reviews, and got hands on with a friend’s Ubuntu touch phone. Its fast, Lomiri is amazing, and because it’s been in development for so long, it is much more stable than PureOS with Phosh or Manjaro with KDE.

Why pixel 3a tho? Is it more compatible with Ubuntu touch than other phones?

Along with the OnePlus one, it has the most hardware support. On a lot of phones Ubuntu touch either isn’t supported or key features like sound, camera, or WiFi don’t work.
