    Negro is not the n-word.

    Is it offensive for non-Black people to call us that now? Yes.

    Is it the same level as the actual n-word slur? No.

      Especially when the black power movement came into the political consciousness. “Negro” is more of an outdated term than anything.

      Old civil rights leaders alive today still use “negro” and some younger advocates for afro-liberation will use the word. Equating “negro” with the slur is dishonest at best.

    WOW. Fascinating to see them naming the victims of lynchings, etc. it reads as an honest appeal to reason instead of a cynical ploy to sow division among the troops
