People keep saying “organize, organize” but what does “organizing” mean exactly?
Ultimately it means meet/talk with other people and engage in planning and work to accomplish something together, whether that thing is big or small.
Easiest thing to do is look around for people who are already organized, e.g., a party or other org focused on a particular issue. IMO if someone has no experience with organizing whatsoever, then they can benefit from joining almost anything, even something run by liberals, anarchists, etc., just simply to see what kind of dynamics are at play when people are trying to work together to accomplish something. A lot of orgs and such are not easy to find online. It’s better to just go to protests and demonstrations or to community projects and start meeting people and learning about what they are doing by word of mouth. People who are involved in organizing are typically going to be open to teaching/involving new people. A demonstration is the kind of place where people are purposely trying to educate and involve the public. Just don’t come across as a cop and be wary that some people trying to involve you in things might be cops themselves lol. Approach groups with a critical eye, join a small-scale/low-risk org whose goals you support to learn about the practical dynamics of how organizing works and to build up a network of acquaintances and friends, and keep learning from there. Trying to organize something from scratch with no experience is possible but if you don’t have a clear idea of what you’re doing nor have a group of other people who are keen and intrinsically motivated to work on the goal, it’s going to be pretty difficult.

We are talking shit like coordinating pressure campaigns, getting people’s perspectives, raising awareness, and discussing X issue at large. You can start with something as simple as pressuring game studios to stop butchering whatever favorite game franchise you have.
To me, that’s more agitprop.

Yeah, as much as I hate GamerGate, at least it showed that gamers DO have the ability to make a difference. We need to start our own GamerGate except one that actually does something like combating lootboxes and predatory monetization, fighting unfavorable working conditions, holding the likes of 343 industries accountable, fighting monopolies, democratization of game studios, I could go on.
The best ones I can think of are:
- getting 343 to depart from the god-awful Halo 4 and 5 and even delay Infinite.
- causing Belgium to ban lootboxes;
- increasing support for unionization;
I am honestly sad the potential we gamers have to organize is wasted on shit like GamerGate and SweetBabyInc.
Maybe one day another good Fallout game will come…
Until then, we must pressure Bethesda.
I sincerely doubt current Bethesda can make a good Fallout game, so the better option is to pressure Microsoft.
Fallout being shit is a Bethesda problem. Microsoft problems are Microsoft problems, like their planned obsolescence on Xbox.
Fallout being shit is because Bethesda mishandles the IP, but Microsoft owns Fallout now, and could have another studio make a better Fallout game.
What does MiKKKrosoft have to do with Fallout being shite? Does it do some sort of interference in Bethesda?
I believe there’s a disconnect here.
My goal is for there to be a new, good, Fallout game. Along with this goal, we know the following:

Bethesda mishandled the IP at every opportunity since acquiring the IP

Microsoft now owns the Fallout IP, not Bethesda

Microsoft owns other RPG dev studios that show greater capability of handling the Fallout IP
Looking at this directly, why do you think pressuring Bethesda would better achieve this initial goal, than Microsoft? Microsoft has more power over the IP and the Means to allocate it to a better dev, even for a spinoff a la New Vegas.

But honestly, Let This Radicalize You separated the difference between organizing and activism and that’s actually creating a group of like-minded people who do activism or running a campaign of some sort.
