    It might not be the best language, but it isn’t the worst by any means.

      Yeah, it is what I consider extremely average.

      It’s lacking basically all of the features that would make for a pleasant/fun language, but the features that it does have, are well-designed within those constraints, and the tooling doesn’t actively make me want to jump in front of a bus (which is a large feat).

    I don’t think java is the problem. I even used to like java at college in the 2000s. I think the “best practices”, dependence injection and the “elegant paradigms” (that if you don’t follow you are an illiterate moron) make java a nightmare.
