I felt like shit, so I told management that I had a fever and didn’t feel well. They told me, “I mean, you can leave early, but it’s gonna count against you. You will receive an absence on your record.”

So I stayed. I finished my entire shift with a 100 degree fever, working with ready to eat foods. As the day progressed, I kept feeling worse and worse, so I scheduled a Covid rapid test today at the clinic and tested positive.

So Fry’s (Kroger in AZ) subtly guilted me into staying instead of sending me home, and now I’ve exposed all my coworkers and customers to Covid. Awesome.

This could have been prevented if the person had gotten a test immediately after showing the symptoms, especially working in the food industry.

Also, this is why eating out always poses a risk b/c you never know how clean the food is handled.
