I feel like that’s a stretch to imply ANY distrust of Capitalism is the equivalent of being a hokey science denier. Capitalism incentivizes taking advantage of people’s fears, insecurities, and ignorance. That’s why there’s people out there selling crystals, tarot cards, and Vitamin C pills.
Even if the claims of the company is false, its a sign that they want to develop a tool that can do it; and there is a market that will pay for it.
