Late to the party, but can I just add that I find it hilarious how liberals think that the U.S. population’s mediocre or low approval rate of its own government is just more evidence that it’s a democracy? Logically, that would only be possible if the majority of the democracy’s citizens hated themselves… then again, considering the lackluster state of mental healthcare in the U.S., and the general toxicity of its hyperindividualist culture, that may be a plausible explanation after all. China has incredible support for the national govt. Local govts are often accused of corruption and incompetence. The CPC is cracking down on them.
