Can’t wait for the “Ukraine good, Putin evil” crowd to switch their narrative consensus to “we were against the war from the beginning”.

Why would they do that? Most American liberals don’t even genuinely feel they should not have invaded Iraq and Afghanistan. They just feel they kinda “bungled” the whole process.

The “bungling” they would talk about this time would be “being tricked into supporting an authoritarian dictator” they’ll portray it as them being noble and brave and trying to save someone, but being tricked because the guy was actually a bad guy.

So they wouldn’t ever admit the war was amoral or for profit, just that they were fooled by a baddie into fighting the war. 100% blameless west.

Eh, even the “we totally opposed the war in Iraq, you guise” crowd still piles shit on Saddam. Best bet it would be similar. “OH we are totally against US interventions and we agree USA isn’t perfect and all, but don’t you agree Putin is evil

Why wouldn’t they think Putin is evil? The news tells them that Putin is trying to murder his political opponents (Navalny)

That is exactly my point. And this will be used as a way to weasel out of any responsibility
