• I think we might be talking about different kinds of people. I don’t have much sympathy for the people who knowingly buy food like the extreme greasy burgers you mentioned, but I do sympathize with mildly obese people who frequently eat cheap, unhealthy food if they can’t easily afford anything else, and I certainly sympathize with people who don’t have the time or motivation to exercise consistently.

      If they can eat unhealthy food, they most likely can take out an hour daily for some exercise. Not bodybuilding, but simple exercise. People that do not do it end up as mildly or slightly obese or fat, and that is still a problem on them. People always have time, it is just about priorities. Health is not a priority to people, and under any circumstance, unless they are critically surviving in warzone or are physically disabled or such, it is wrong.

      • It’s not always that simple. For example, someone with severe depression might find it extremely difficult to do these kinds of things, no matter how much free time they have. Even if you’re OK mentally, there are plenty of reasons for why people don’t exercise, like having to consistently work long hours and being extremely tired at the end of the day. I don’t see why it should matter to other people (aside from doctors, I suppose) whether someone is slightly obese.

          The depression is usually caused by following the junk sedentary lifestyle invented and donated by West to the world. It is basically a vicious loop, and people love the vices until they do not.

          • Usually? If there’s any evidence of that, please link it. Largely caused by capitalism, sure; aggravated by a poor diet and sedentary lifestyle, sure; but I highly doubt that a lack of physical activity is the main culprit.

              There is a serious amount of evidence linking release of oxytocin and dopamine to doing rewarding physical activity. Instead, people have fucked up their dopamine receptors by living the trashy sedentary junk lifestyle, and cheating their way through dopamine pleasures.

              It is lots of hormonal play. Serotonin for example is lacking in people because they binge shows and do not sleep much. It is a whole ecosystem of vice at this point.

              I have my own gym at home, practice MMA, have a physique and natural, peaceful and educational lifestyle people salivate over, and can tell literally everything and anything that people do wrong in their lives.

              • Sure, being generally unhealthy can have a significant effect, but that doesn’t mean it’s the main culprit. It’s great that you have the motivation to do these things, but not everyone does, no matter what the cause of depression is, and even if the resulting lack of physical activity compounds the negative effects.

                Anyway, it seems that we agree that it’s not only caused by individuals actively choosing to be unhealthy.

                (I’m assuming you’re being hyperbolic with that last sentence)
