American consumerism is really creepy. I remember coming across a “childhood nostalgia” compilation on YT and it was just a bunch of really mind numbing ads. The fact that people see that as a fond memory from their childhood seems very sad to me. Truly a cultural wasteland.
Haha very true. There’s really nothing else to do for American kids trapped in the suburbs but watch endless hours of TV. Or YouTube and Twitch nowadays.
