While at university I worked for a small company and Budwieser was one of our clients. I would drop in occasionally to the brewery, and it always smelled like chundered beer.
I could not remember the name of that website. Thanks!
Bloody hell, took me a minute, but that’s gold.
I saw a guy once write “Edit: Thanks for the gold asshole”.
Made my day.

Yes, I should’ve put Tumblr in. Missed it.
Reddit.com will exist, but be irrelevant. Look at Napster. They are still around! But who knows what they do now?
Could we just make every post NSFW, regardless of content?
Exactly this. I like to know when someone is habitually being a clown so I can remove them from my life.
Owning your own media gives it value, rather than it being a convenient commodity at a click. And it’s something Big Music Corp. cannot take from you once it’s yours. It’s yours forever.
Edit. I’ll add to that that when you own the media you can then convert it to whichever new device/format/quality is trending on the day.
There used to be a site called iCompositions that i was active in years ago. I would love to see something like this again.
I don’t see myself leaving Lemmy anytime soon. It’s like being in an exclusive club. You don’t want go to back to the that filthy club where the bouncers are pricks.

The first things I’ve noticed here is that not only are people not afraid to speak their mind, but can also express a thought and write intelligently. I like it here.
Edit: Typo, lol…
Well thought-out post, and there’s a lot here a lot of people haven’t thought of. I clicked my Reddit bookmark several times yesterday from this muscle memory, only to panic close the window before I could log in. All you’ve said is encouraging, and with a little resolve, probably not as difficult as it seems right now. I may go back to try to collect some friends and communities, to encourage them to come here, but Fediverse feels like a tangible, new beginning.
Literally got up at 3am last night for wee, in the dark. Saw myself in the mirror and thought “Don’t do it. Just go back to bed…”
