I wouldn’t mind running my own single user instance, but it seems a little challenging to set up rn. I would love to be able to set one up easily with a rasperry pi or my truenas core server.

Aside from needing to have grapheneOS, Is there any reason not to use vandium on mobile?

If my understanding is correct, it’s actually not just a simple proxy but actually a mirror, meaning If the remote instance’s server is down or slow, your local instance will still be able to let you see/vote on/comment on the post.

I haven’t found any way to do that yet. Definately feel like this should be a feature though.

Here’s to hoping they get fined an amount that impacts their profits more than the amount they made doing this. I’m not holding my breath though.

No one has mentioned DR stone yet, I’m keeping up with season 3. I’ve read the whole manga and can say with some certainty that its going to be a real gem if they can keep the production quality up all the way to the end.

the mobile apps need more work done on them atm than the web ui imho(idk if that counts as front end, I’m not a developer). Jebora works, but It feels really glitchy to me atm. hopefully the developers of third party reddit apps will either help work on jebora or develop their own lemmy apps to make the mobile experience better.

edit: I also think we need collapsible comment chains (on jebora, just realized the webui has them)

if you tap the sandwitch menu, then tap all, it should show you content from all instances (that are not blocked by your home instance).

I had this experience with both Firefox and chrome on desktop. When I switched to mobile it worked. I use vandium browser on graphenos though, so I don’t know how well it will work with other phones, but its probably worth a shot if your still having problems.

I’m sorry to see him go, but totally understand his reasons. I use grapheneos on a pixel as my main phone, its amazing how functional, secure, and private it is by default and I have to say its the best smartphone I’ve ever had, and the only one I’ve owned so far that makes me 100% confidant that no one is listening or watching me at every moment of my life. I hope he finds peace, away from the harrasment and violence he has been forced to endure.

I don’t know either, but I think hot probably sorts by posts with lots of recent upvotes whereas active probably sorts by amount of recent comments?
